Any World of Warcraft player with a Twitch account and internet connection could soon earn one of the rarest mounts in gaming history, but the jury is still out on whether that’s a good thing.
The mount in question, Feldrake, which Blizzard recently confirmed, will be available November 28-30 as part of the game’s first Twitch Drop campaign. To earn it, players simply need to connect their Battle.net and Twitch accounts and watch four hours of WoW: Dragonflight-related content on the streaming platform.
Until yesterday, some players were willing to pay thousands of real dollars for the Vildrago mount.
You might not expect players to be upset because they can get free in-game rewards, and while many players are happy with Feldrake, many are less enthusiastic about the promotion. Rode? Vildrago is not a new mount made specifically for Twitch Drops. Previously, it was only available to those who got a rare card as part of the now-defunct World of Warcraft Trading Card Game, effectively making the mountain a major status symbol in the game. Players who own the card can unlock in-game rewards by entering the 25-digit code on it, and the codes will still work even though the deck is out of print.
Right now, only those who got Feldrake from playing card games in the past (the card game was discontinued in 2013, shortly after this mount was released) and spent exorbitant prices to buy the card on sites like eBay can see this. You have one of the rarest mounts in the game. Everyone has had bad luck for years.
The WoW subreddit and forums are full of articles praising and criticizing Blizzard’s decision to make the rare mountain available to all players. While Vildrago is a repainted version of readily available mounts that have been around since the Wrath of the Lich King, some argue that Blizzard ruined the mount’s prestige while insulting those who spent a thousand years. taking real world dollars (some by October 24 apparently).
Others are happy that the mount will be available to all players, in the hope that the Twitch Drop campaign will offer more mounts than Blizzard’s Twitch Drop of Oh, previously exclusive to card games (such as Spectral Tiger). . game cosmetics store. Whatever field gamers are, it’s almost certain that on November 28, there will be a lot of people watching WoW on Twitch.
WoW’s next expansion, the first phase of the Dragonflight pre-patch is currently in full swing. The second pre-patch phase, coming November 15, will introduce the new Dracthyr race and new Evoker class, along with the Primal Storms pre-patch event, before the full expansion kicks off on November 28.
