One of the most famous pop musicians of the 2000s somehow joins Pokémon Go. That person is the English singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran.
Ed Sheeran HQ’s Twitter account has revealed that some sort of crossover between the singer and the mobile game Pokémon Go is coming soon. Later, the game’s official account retweeted it with an eye emoji, confirming the partnership.

No other details on this have been revealed, so it’s unclear what Ed Sheeran will be like in Pokémon Go. The easiest guess would be that he wrote and performed some music for the game. Who knows? Anyway, Ed is coming, he’s worked on other projects like Game of Thrones and Rise of Skywalker, but those were acting roles, unlike Pokémon Go.
The last update with Pokemon Go was in September when Niantic announced new personal Safari Live Event dates. They were originally supposed to be held in 2020, but were postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Pokémon Go was also in the news because Niantic planned to reduce the interaction radius of PokeStops and Gyms associated with the pandemic. However, after an outcry from fans, Niantic decided to back off and keep the interaction radius at 80 meters instead of 40.
