In 2022, the online games market in Russia fell by 80%

The official online gambling market in Russia performed poorly in 2022, shrinking by 80% to RUB 19.8 billion.

According to ANO Tsifrovaya ekonomika, it will take about two or three years at best to recover the video game market in Russia.

In addition, aspects have been identified that will contribute to this:

• development of specialized education programs in the field of game development and eSports;
• Development of Russian platforms, in particular VK Play;
• Government investment in content production.

In turn, the volume of the world market was $ 184.4 billion in 2022 against $ 194.7 billion in 2021. The final figures fell by 4.31%.

Newzoo analysts suggest the market will be worth $211.2 billion by 2025.
