South Korean President Yoon Seok-yeol addressed the winners of the 2023 League of Legends World Championship on social media.
Noting that the T1 team has won this tournament four times, the politician noted that the current victory has touched the citizens of South Korea and people around the world:
Dear players of the T1 team, I sincerely congratulate you on your fourth victory at the League of Legends World Championship and the first victory in 7 years. The moments when Lee Sang Hyuk, Choi Woo Jae, Moon Hyun Joong, Lee Min Hyun and Ryu Min Seok came together as one team brought great joy and touched the citizens of South Korea, as well as people around the world. The South Korean government will continue to support esports to ensure the domestic video game industry remains globally competitive. Congratulations again to the T1 players on this achievement.

The 2023 World Championship took place from October 10 to November 19 at the LAN in Seoul, South Korea. 22 teams competed for $2.225 million in prize money. In the final, T1 defeated Weibo with a score of 3:0 and received $445,000 in prize money.
Previously, after winning the tournament, players from the T1 team named during a press conference the characters on whom they would like to see new champion skins.
On November 19, Riot Games officially announced the location of the next League of Legends World Championship. The 2024 World Championship will take place in Great Britain.
