A Less Friendly Game of Chess is this week’s Hearthstone Tavern Brawl

This week in the Tavern, you take a break from investigating the death of Ser Denatrius to play a less friendly game of chess.

This week, people can cheat on Medivh’s magical chessboard. For this fight, you’ll start by building a deck of six unique cards, all of which will theoretically be hidden under the table. At some point in the match, you will be able to use these cards to turn the match in your favor.

When choosing six cards, you must first choose a class. While you will be able to use most cards for your chosen class, as well as neutral cards, there are some restrictions. Don’t expect to be able to change the game with someone like Lord Jaraxu or any other hero card.

Once you’ve chosen your six trap cards, it’s time to Brawl. In addition to the six cards you choose from under the table, your deck consists of chess pieces. You will play with white or black, as in chess. Your cards will be white knight, white bishop, white pawn, black knight, black pawn and more.

Each chess player has his own unique skill. You’ll also be able to spend two mana to use a hero power, allowing you to reveal a chess piece. Positioning is important in this fight, so think of it as a game of chess.

If you win this Brawl for the first time, you will get a free standard card pack. You can play a less friendly game of chess throughout the week.
