London police have arrested a 17-year-old suspected of committing the latest Rockstar Games hack that led to the unprecedented leak of ongoing footage of Grand Theft Auto 6. Guilty of violating the terms of his parole.

The arrest, which took place on September 22, was announced the following day on the City of London Police’s Twitter account. Police did not specify in their initial report whether the hacker, identified as a “17-year-old from Oxfordshire”, was suspected of hacking into Rockstar Games. But he said it was “part of an investigation” being conducted in conjunction with Britain’s National Cybercrime Service.

Eurogamer later reported that the suspect was behind the Rockstar hack as part of a larger group called Lapsus$, and this isn’t the first time they’ve been on the wrong side of the law. It is unclear what penalties the suspect may face or what action Take-Two will take against them.

Grand Theft Auto 6 or whatever it’s called hasn’t been officially announced, though Rockstar says it’s working on the next Grand Theft Auto game. The leak revealed footage of the development and apparently confirms a playable female character and Vice City setting. Rockstar didn’t immediately go into these details, just saying that development will go ahead as planned.
