GAMING BUGS ON MAC M1: Everything You Need to Know
I’m experiencing repeated crashes when playing Genshin Impact in Playcover using the key mapping feature via Playtools. After updating my M1 Mac to Sonoma 14.1.1, both Genshin and other games I tried crashed when I tried to open them. Even though I have tried multiple versions of PlayCover and Genshin IPA, the problem still persists, leading me to suspect that this is a PlayTools issue. Here you will find a detailed description of the error you are experiencing and the steps to reproduce it.
Description of the error
After updating my M1 Mac to Sonoma 14.1.1, games like Genshin Impact crashed when I tried to open them through Playtools. I checked different versions of PlayCover and Genshin IPA, but the problem persisted. When I installed Genshin without PlayTools, the game ran smoothly. However, it is virtually impossible to use basic matching functions without PlayTools, so it is very important to solve this problem.
Steps for rebuilding
Unfortunately, since I use XCode a lot, I’m not entirely sure if the bug is related to my work environment. However, this is what I did and the problems remained:
1. I installed PlayCover 3.0.1 on MacOS M1 Sonoma 14.1.1.
2. I installed the Genshin Impact IPA file.
3. I uploaded the IPA file to PlayCover using PlayTools.
4. You tried to open Genshin Impact, which resulted in a sudden crash.
expected behavior
After the first confirmation message, the game should start normally. However, this was not the case and the crash log confirms this problem.
Error log
While the entire crash log doesn’t fit here, it is clear that the crash is related to the use of PlayTools and that there are multiple threads involved in the crash. Exceptions include EXC_CRASH, process termination, and various related thread errors.
