CoD: Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2 patch notes fix annoying chat bug and more

A new update has arrived for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 that fixes several annoying bugs and crashes in Multiplayer, Battle Royale, and DMZ. The full patch notes are available below, but include a fix for some highlights, the annoying chat bug, and battle pass issues.

One of the major changes in the update is the much-needed fix for a chat bug that caused multiple players’ names to stick on screen when chatting. This was frustrating as it caused the names to remain frozen in future matches as well, and the only way to fix this was to restart the game.

While it may be too late for those who have already completed it, fixes are finally coming for the Season 1 Battle Pass. Players who have not yet completed the pass will now experience less freezing and crawling issues. The update also introduces a new feature that marks unused Battle Pass Tokens.

Changes have also been made to address navigational issues and text errors related to Gunsmith, according to patch notes from Infinity Ward. It also fixes a bug that sometimes caused a player’s screen to go black when exiting the firing range.

The Warzone 2 update fixes the exploit that allows players to earn XP with a Gas Stim. It also fixes the annoying chest bug that can cause a player to crash, disconnect from the game, or lose functionality after interacting with a chest.

Additionally, Infinity Ward says this update includes several fixes to reduce the number of known glitches in Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2. Full patch notes are available below as shared by Infinity Ward.

Season 2 brings the next major update to both games, including new maps, weapons, and a new battle pass. Season 2 also turns Al Mazrah’s Gulag into a 1-on-1 arena. Unfortunately, Activision has announced that Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 Season 2 have now been delayed for two weeks. Season 2, originally scheduled for February 1, will now release on February 15, giving developers more time to make changes based on player feedback, the publisher said.
